CA Foundation Course

The Foundation Course is the entry-level course for the Chartered Accountancy curriculum.

  • Eligibility: Candidates can register for the Foundation Course after completing Class 12th. Also, provisional registration can be done on the basis of hall ticket of 12th Grade.
  • Papers:
    • Accounting
    • Business Laws
    • Quantative Aptitude
    • Business Economics
  • Exam Pattern:
    • The examination comprises four papers in total.
    • Paper 1 and Paper 2 are subjective in nature.
    • Paper 3 and Paper 4 are objective, with a negative marking system deducting one-fourth of a mark for each incorrect response.
    • The exam is conducted offline, with a total of 400 marks (each paper carrying 100 marks).
    • To pass the CA Foundation Exam in 2024, candidates must meet the following criteria:
      • Achieve a minimum of 40% marks in each paper.
      • Secure an aggregate of 50% marks across all four papers combined. Candidates failing to meet the above criteria, as set by ICAI, will be considered unsuccessful and will need to reappear for the CA Foundation Exam.
  • Expectation from students: Students are expected to grasp basic accounting principles and the business environment, developing foundational knowledge.
